Local law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and Air Evacuation agencies will conduct a training exercise at West Carter High School today (April 30) at 10:00 AM. This is a multi-agency response exercise for prom safety and DUI awareness. There will be a large presence of emergency vehicles and personnel.
This drill helps prepare first responders and educates students about the dangers of drunk driving, especially with upcoming events such as prom and graduation.

We are writing to share important information regarding student enrollment for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year.
Due to recent changes in legislative funding, Carter County Schools will be transitioning away from online registration. Enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year will now be completed using paper forms, with each school coordinating its own enrollment events and processes.
Your child’s school will provide specific details in the coming weeks regarding enrollment dates, required documentation, and procedures. Please be on the lookout for additional communication from your school to ensure a smooth enrollment process.
Although enrollment will no longer be completed online, the Parent Portal will remain available. Parents and guardians will still be able to access student grades, attendance records, and household information through the portal.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make this transition. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school directly.
Sincerely,
Bradley Walker
Director of Pupil Personnel
Carter County Schools
