The Carter County Board of Education recognized employees and students who worked hard to serve 222,497 summer meals.
Our ECHS and WCHS High School Math teachers (including our Special Education teachers!!!) are learning more about our new high school Math program-Illustrative Mathematics. Ryan Raybourn is leading them as a practitioner expert. #StandardOfExcellence #cartercoproud
Congratulations to West Carter's FFA members who attended the Kentucky State Fair and participated in the small power contest and placed in the Top 10 in the state!

Carter County PreK teacher Carol Stewart and Instructional Supervisor Nellie Wright attended the PreK for All event in Morehead to advocate for universal PreK funding and opportunity.
Congratulations to Tera Baldwin (East Carter High School) who completed the Kentucky Master Teacher of Personal Finance course through the St Louis Federal Reserve over the summer! The course was offered at Eastern Kentucky University.

East and West Carter Middle School EXCELLENT Math teams (Tommie Freize, Barry Forbes, Brandy Stephens, Leslie Kee, Christi Burnett, Whitney Salley, Regan Kinney, Kathy Bledsoe, Tara Rogers, Carla Weddington, Heather Prince, Rayma Kouns, Zach Stevens) participated in Access to Algebra training through AdvanceKY. Carter County East and West Middle Schools were selected to participate and offer Algebra in our middle schools.
Lisa Adams and Natalie Riffe are using part of their summer to learn strategies to continue providing excellent reading and writing instruction. They both participated in KEDC's Adolescent Literacy training.
