🏆We would like to congratulate Lily Gilbert on being selected as a Kentucky State Champion in the Presidential AI Challenge!!! Lily was one of 6 projects chosen as a state champion from Kentucky!🏆
https://www.ai.gov/initiatives/presidential-challenge
The Presidential AI Challenge is a national initiative for K-12 students and educators to create AI-based solutions for community challenges. Established by Executive Order 14277, it fosters AI literacy, skill-building, and ethical usage to prepare youth for an AI-assisted workforce. Participants develop AI apps, tools, or proposals
Lilly interviewed last Friday with judges from the Presidential AI Challenge who are experts in the field of Artificial Intelligence to expand on her AI Proposal "The Future of the FAST! Project." This was to continue on to compete against other projects regionally.
"The Future of The FAST! Project is a proposal for the future, a future powered by AI. The focus? Fire spread prevention, mainly through detecting the fires quicker and getting firefighters to the fire faster. Whether this is done through the FireBot in the house turning information from the fire detecting network into holograms or using Augmented Reality (AR) goggles to help firefighters get around a smoke/blaze filled house, I believe AI can be used in the right way. Not only to save houses in the future, but lives too."
